MY HERO!

"The question isn't who is going to let me; it's who is going to stop me." - Ayn Rand

Man, do I ever love this kid!

Rocking my world today....

Jan who brought me these awesome blueberry muffins! They were still warm and I wasted NO time getting right to work on one of these bad boys. Thanks Jan - we loved them!

These chuckleheads who despite working my last nerve while I was trying to pack for our trip also managed to make me laugh out loud at least 3 times today. It's amazing how kids can do that to you.

Hammer time

(Still playing a little "catch up" here)...
Cooper and Mark spent last Saturday morning at the Home Depot kids workshop making a birdhouse. Cooper was excited about getting to use the hammer. He had a lot of fun and was pretty proud of his handiwork. He's been bugging me all week to get some birdfeed to put in it so he can watch the birds use it.

4th of July

We spent our 4th of July just like pretty much everyone else in the country. While I was out for a morning run, Mark took the boys to get some star shaped Krispy Kreme donuts with red, white and blue sprinkles for breakfast (don't tell me you didn't have the very same patriotic meal). Next we hit the Circle C bike parade followed by some play time at the pool. A few hours later we headed down to Buda to hang out with friends and have a BBQ (thanks Taylors for hosting) and wrapped up the day by watching some fireworks. We packed as much as we possibly could into the day because that's how you show America how much you love it, right? The kids had fun, but they were tired by the end and both of them were asleep before we got out of the parking lot to head home.

Mark and Cooper playin' a little ball...

giving daddy a cookie

wagon rides were a big hit (with the kids - not as much with those of us doing the pulling)

waiting for the fireworks to start.
Seriously, I love this country. It is such a privilege to live here and enjoy the freedoms that we do. Happy Birthday America - you are so worth celebrating!

Toot-toot!!

Hello? Is anyone still out there? *tap*tap* is this thing even working?
It's been so long since I've posted (again) I've almost forgotten how. That, or it's my computer having all the technical difficulties today and not really me fumbling around not knowing what I'm doing. Anyway...Yes, I am "tooting my own horn" today. I am now officially licensed to practice dental hygiene in Texas! I wasn't too worried about getting my license here because I wasn't considering going back to work yet. But then it was brought to my attention that my boards were going to expire soon and I'd better get a move-on and process my paperwork. So after a lot of work, worry and several prayers I got everything in (literally the day before the deadline). I'm not even kidding when I say I would rather have a root canal than go through the living nightmare of taking my boards again. So big sigh of relief, a couple of cartwheels and a "WA-HOO!!" I can take that off my worry list for now.

Child Labor

Cooper has been wanting to earn money lately. He's really into Star Wars these days and when he saw an R2D2 action figure that made noises when you pressed it's buttons he HAD to have it......only I was not as convinced that we needed it. So I told him he could do some jobs around the house and earn the money to buy it himself. One of the things he decided to do was to make his bed without any help...

...not bad for his first attempt. And finally, a couple of weeks (and several similar "jobs") later...
