Porter-man

Porter started "preschool" this year. He was (and still is) more excited about putting on a backpack than anything else. I think, to him, it's a sure sign of being a 'big boy'. The pre-school is a co-op with a few friends from church. We get together once a week with 4 other boys his age and we mom's take turns being the teacher. Luckily my turn only comes up every 5 weeks because 5 little boys is quite a handful...but they're also pretty dang cute!

BYU game

BYU came to Texas to play Oklahoma in the new Dallas Cowboys stadium - an opportunity that Mark couldn't pass up. We headed up for the weekend with our friends the Moores. We had a lot of fun. It was an amazing game and as an added bonus I got to see my great friends Evan & Kathryn Perry who were in town from Utah for the game (forgot my camera for that part).

Look at all that RED!!!

"sister's" weekend

In September I headed over to Atlanta and then down to Destin, Florida with a couple of my sisters, (Cheryl and Allison) my awesome niece-in-law (Melissa) and my mom. We just wanted to get away and have a little 'girl time'. It was fun. We saw a couple of 'chick flicks', got pedicures, ate lots of yummy food and (of course) did some shopping.
Chillin' on the beach...

a couple of bathing beauties!!
We all got matching shirts from Anne Taylor on one of our shopping trips ...yeah, we're dorks -- but cute dorks ;) ( I had to crop out my pregnant belly)

Cooper's 1st Day of School!

Cooper is a kindergartener!! He was SO excited...until we went to wake him up at 6:30 to get ready - he was NOT a fan of that (I can't say I blame him. I'm on his team on that one.) He's getting used to it though and he's made some fun friends. He loves his teacher Ms. Jeffrey and I'm sure he's going to have a great year!

To celebrate Cooper's first day of school Mark took off work a little early and we all went bowling. Bowling with little kids is hiarious! I highly recommend it!

A little randomness...

I was looking through some old pictures today and I came across this one. Those are some fun people in that picture and I miss them dearly (well, except for the one to the far left that I'm now married to)...but what I was ALSO thinking as I looked at this picture was that I still have that coat tucked away in some closet (because I'm horrible about getting rid of things) - same with the mittens. The sweater is long gone (ok, maybe I'm not horrible - apparently I have my limits?)...but I've lived in the south for so many years now, that I can't even remember what it's like to be in weather that requires a thick wool sweater...let alone a thick wool sweater underneath a giant puffy coat! Crazy, crazy. This time of year I really do miss brisk cold and snow and all those things that tell you that the holidays are coming.
But then I put on my flip-flops and walk up to the park with the boys and forget all about the snow.
