ACL 2010

WOOHOO! It's festival time again!!
One of our favorite things about living in Austin is the Austin City Limits music festival. 3 days + 8 stages + 130 bands = our definition of a near perfect way to spend a weekend.

The first day there are always fewer people there so we take the kids. They can play in the sand pits (usually the sand volleyball area - they tent it and fill it with adirondack chairs and sand toys) while we listen to some fun tunes.
We always spend a little time over at the Austin Kiddie Limits area that day too! They have an "instrument petting zoo", places to get temp. tatt's and free ice cream...not to mention bands that cater to kids. This year the Verve Pipe was playing there. It's funny, a few of the bands I listened to in the early 90's are now doing kids music. Who'd a thunk?

The kids favorite was Vampire Weekend. They danced their little hinies off!! Some other great bands we saw: Muse, Temper Trap, Silversun Pickups, Ozomatli, The Strokes, Spoon, Matt & Kim, Miike Snow and lots, lots more. GOOOOOD times!!
