Day 1

If you're looking for a way to really challenge the limits of your patience - may I suggest flying with a 4 year old and a (almost) 2 year old by yourself? In order to fully test the limits you'll need to do the 3 hour flight/4 hour layover/3 hour flight schedule and finish it with a 1 hour drive.

The DVD player which should have been a Godsend, ended up holding their interest for no longer than 20min. (I later realized that there were technical difficulties with the earphones which Porter, with his limited vocabulary, was unable to alert me to.)

Misty (my sister-in-law) Rick and Piper saved (at least part of) the day!! They were SO NICE to take the time and effort to meet us at LAX and spend a good portion of our 4 hour layover with us. THANK YOU guys!!

The cousins.

The worst part of a vacation is getting there with kids! It looks like you all enjoyed Mt. Vernon-Gail said it was fun to have you there!

What fun to meet at the airport - too bad you didn't have at least an overnight layover. Cousins meeting at McDonald's at the airport - such jetsetters they all are.

Flying with two is a challange, to say the least- I don't know how you did it with a layover!!!! You're super mom!
