We decided to go to Zilker Park. Every year they have a firework show accompanied by the Austin Symphony. They even did the 1812 Overature with real cannons! We had to take a shuttle to get there and then walk about a mile from where they dropped us off - and it rained on us...but it's just one of those things you have to do once while living in Austin. We went with some fun friends (Blair and Wendy Jones, and the Bedwell family) - so we had a good time anyway. Besides, fireworks and
lightning are a cool combination.
